Project Overview
This project is part of the Assignment 2 at 10k Designers UI/UX Design Cohort 7. The duration of this project was 2 weeks.
Problem Statement
Designing a landing page for 30 Days AI Art Challenge.
Main goal of the landing page is to inform people about this challenge and get participations.
Research
As the problem statement is still hypothetical, I started refining it so that it sounds more real. I explored famous challenges related to art and came up two popular challenges in the world.
1. 36daysoftype - 36daysoftype is a famous typography challenge held every year. It is challenge where designers, illustrators and visual artist are invited to express their unique interpretation of the 27 letters and 9 numbers.
2. Inktober - Inktober is also very popular challenge among illustrators which happens in October month of the year. Started by Jake Parker as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing skills.

Refined problem statement
Alex, who is a professional graphic designer tried AI art and got blown away by it. He is learning about AI art and prompt engineering for a few months and got pretty good at it.
Alex wants to start an AI art challenge as passion project to build community of art enthusiasts with these goals in mind.
Inspiration and Exploration
Community Building
Accessible and Inclusive
Information architecture✍️
I followed AIDA marketing model for the Information Architecture of the website.
The AIDA Model, which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action model, is an advertising effect model that identifies the stages that an individual goes through during the process of purchasing a product or service.
At first , I placed the challenge story section after hero section but after getting feedback from mentor ( user is not interested in the story after landing on your website, he wants to know about the challenge ) I iterated on it.

Wireframe✍️

Moodboarding
My favourite part of the whole design process, finding inspirations from other people works. As the challenge is about AI art, I tried to collect some inspirations from web3 websites ( especially NFTs ).
I did mood boarding on branding and website sections separately.

Logo design
For the 30 Days AI Art Challenge, I went with a clean wordmark to keep the name front and center. The text sits inside a simple calendar icon to reflect the 30-day format.
Color and Typography
I took inspiration from modern AI and NFT platforms like Leonardo AI and Nerko. The bold gradients and dark backgrounds help give it that futuristic, creative feel. The colors—vibrant purple, pink, and electric blue—match the energy of the AI art space.
For type, I picked Adieu for its artsy, display-focused style, perfect for headings. Satoshi keeps things clean and readable for body text. Together, they strike a nice balance between creativity and clarity.

Website Visual Design
This is the first version of my website. After taking feedback from the mentors I have done multiple iterations for each section.

Nav Bar Iteration
Reduced the height of Nav bar and added some space in the CTA button to keep the label legible and provide plenty of area for users to click to increase accessibility.

Hero section Iteration
Changed the primary typeface from Satoshi to Adieu after feedback. Both are sans serif font but Adieu have some artsy vibe and it is also developed for headings, logos and display.
Also found the perfect layout after 3–4 iterations. In the final version, the AI artworks in the background are animated in infinite loop.

Features section Iteration
Made changes in the layout. In the first version, I am giving more importance to community part, after getting feedback from mentors I designed the layout to give every feature equal space. Also made some changes in the copy.

How to participate section (Iteration)
In this section, I tried different formats to communicate information on participating the challenge. From only text based information to adding visuals for helping the user understand easily.

Wall of fame (Iteration)
Wall of fame is a collection of best AI artworks from previous challenges. Main motivation behind this section was to create desire for the viewer.
In the final design I added Instagram's profile link of the artist and kept an artwork space empty for the viewer/ upcoming participants.

My learnings
Try to complete the research part as soon as possible. It gives you time in other part of the process.
Always try to create hi-fi wireframes before starting visual design. It helps you later. Some ideas sounds good in mind but not on canvas. It helps you to jump on visuals with a clear mind and saves time also.
Get continuous feedback from your mentors or peers.
Iterate! Iterate! Iterate!
I enjoyed working on my first web design project. Learned a lot in just 2 weeks. If you are reading this, I am grateful for your time and attention. I hope you enjoyed the case study. If you have any feedback or just want to talk , you can DM me at Twitter or Linkedin.
